Inspiration: I took a number of photos of the Chrysler Building a couple of nights ago. Since many people who comment on my blogs prefer color photography, I though I'd post one in color. Here's the black and white photograph, which I posted yesterday. 

The View From My Window

Italy: Praiano

Inspiration: While on vacation, that is. 1000% different from the view I have at home. New York is a virtual sauna at the moment. I can barely see outside because of the condensation on the windows. Ick. Now I must head to work to make some $$ to pay off the very worthwhile credit card damage incurred over the past week and to save for the next trip. I wonder where I should go next?

Wouldn't You Rather Be Here?

Italy: Amalfi Coast, Amalfi

Inspiration: Considering that New York is welcoming me back with muggy, humid and rainy weather, my answer is "Oh yes I would." At the moment, I am suffering from what I call "Vacation Nostalgia." 

Then to Capri

Itali: Capri

Inspiration: For ages I've wanted to visit Capri. It did not disappoint. These are only a small sampling of photographs as I haven't had the time to go through all of them as yet. Only a half hour by boat from Positano, Capri is a shopper's haven. And I mean high-end. Prada, Dolce & Gabanna, Valentino, Salvatore Ferragamo, Hermes, Tods, Missoni and so on. I limited myself to one pair of Prada sandals that were on sale. I decided to indulge only a little bit when in Capri as I'd already purchased a pair of Missoni sandals (also on sale) in Positano the day before as well as a couple of beautiful rings. Maybe I'll post a photo or two later on of my little goodies. Sometimes, I lose my shopping mind on vacation (since in that moment I feel so far from reality that I start to think that my credit card is some sort of magic wand or something - that is until I get home and an enormous bill arrives two weeks later). I was determined to keep my head about me this time. Just being here is a luxury by itself. Amalfi and Ravello are on the agenda today. I've heard Ravello is spectacular. Ciao.

Positano Once Again

Italy: Amalfi Coast, Positano

Inspiration: Went to Capri yesterday - via Positano. So these photos are a bit of a repeat, especially the second. The main difference was that I used my 35mm this time around (last time, I used a 70-200mm). I haven't seen such rich blues in nature before coming here - except in Greece and possibly the Caribbean.

Inspiration: After tooling around Positano during the morning and early afternoon, I ended up in Praiano chilling out (or rather, burning up) under this umbrella.

Inspiration:  The light was bright and white today, which intensified already brilliant colors. 

Night Lights

Inspiration: I have to admit that I haven't done much over the last 24 hours except read and sleep and lie in the sun.  But I did take a two night photos from my balcony . . . I lugged that tripod all the way here and had to pay a fee of 35 pounds (can you say ripoff?) to get it on the plane, so I had to put it to work.
