New York: Brighton Beach/Coney Island
Inspiration: I posted several photos of the beach this morning in black and white. But as one commenter to that post said, crowded beaches are best presented in color. What do you think?

I definitely agree with the color comment.
Keep these beach shots coming.

These color photos look great. It gives a real beachy atmosphere. But I think the 6th photo would look great in b&w too. Because of the wondering girl in the foreground.
It just depends on the setting, I guess..

In my opinion, I think it depends on the purpose for which the picture is to be used.
For example, if it's to be used for a travel brochure, then colour is best.
On the other hand, if the same picture is to be presented in a gallery as an art piece about sea-side activity, then it's best to present it in b&w.

Haha, I love those beach pics in color. They make this so fun to watch and have a really positive vibe. Especially with those colorful umbrellas.
I agree with Biana on the sixth. Though I'd select another frame (cut/format/dimension/rectangle?) for it in b&w to focus more on the girl. Again no critique, just how I would probably do it.

San and Biana - I see what you mean about the sixth photo. BTW, San - I don't mind critique - I enjoy it, actually. Especially if it is constructive and your comments are.

Some great pictures here. I trust that you know Martin Parr, Patrick Messina or Robert Doisneau's series on Palm Springs?
Keep up the good work!
