New York: Avenue A, East Village (1st and 8th); Rivington Street, Lower East Side (2nd through 7th)
Inspiration: When most people think of Manhattan, they think of its iconic skyline and layers upon layers of architecture. During my walks around the city, however, I've discovered a pretty secret. Manhattan is greener than one might imagine! In addition to its wonderful parks, the island is home to a number of gorgeous community gardens. These are small plots of land that are tended by members of a given neighborhood. The lushness of these little treasures blew me away. By the way, I must dedicate this post to my Mom. In addition to the fact that today is her birthday, I thought of her the entire time I photographed these gardens. She is the queen of all things green. Her own incredible garden is the product of passion and love for the art. This one's for you, Mom!
