New York: Washington Square PArk
Inspiration: I post much less photos in color than in black and white. Apart from my obsession with black and white photography, I have high expectations of a color photograph. I love it when a scene fills the photograph with so much color that it almost pops off the screen! In this series, my expectations have been met. Indeed, I was lucky to have walked into Washington Square Park just in time to photograph an artist painting this woman's body in vibrant hues for a photo-shoot. While I love the portrait shots, the second to last and last photos stand out for me. Why? The nonchalance. The insouciance. The blase attitude. Second to last photo: "Yeah - I am semi-nude and being painted from head to toe in the middle of Manhattan, but honestly, I've gotta send a text right now. No problem. Keep painting. It's all good." Last photo: The look on the face of the woman on the far right as she puffs on her cigarette: "What's the fuss. That's not so hard." Priceless.
