Inspiration: I normally don't do this. I don't normally snap photos of people sharing an intimate moment with food. Eating is not an action one can do in a picture-worthy way, especially if one wants to enjoy his or her food. But, if I waited for her to finish, I might have been standing there for a while given the size of that sandwich. So, I broke my rule (which I am sure that I've broken before) and snapped (and now have posted) this photo because I fell in love with the combination of pink hearts, sparkly tights and purple shoes.
she should know better than to nibble wearing a cute outfit like that! like the glasses gobs. gobble.

Ahahaha. She's soooo cool. I wouldn't have the guts to wear something like this. The shoes are amazing!

I fully agree that eating food is rarely photogenic: people are often caught mid-mastication and their face looks awfully distorted. There are other things I try never to take a picture of: alcohol/cigarettes/drugs and cars (because they ruin the urban landscape). However, one has to make exceptions indeed. It was well worth it, because of the shoes and glasses! (One of my photography students had such glasses last summer and my facebook profile picture shows me wearing them... Not sure it's an inspired move.)
Very nice shot. In many of your pictures, you seem to be slightly higher up than the people you photograph. Are you doing something particular, are you very tall or is it just my imagination?

PS. I have uploaded new pictures of shopwindows. Thanks for your nice comment on the previous one - windows pics are scheduled to appear on every even day of this month.

Davidkus - I guess I am fairly tall but not abnormally so. But in this case, they were sitting on the railing . . . maybe that contributes to the feeling to which you are referring.

Is it just me or are pics of store windows suddenly quite the rage? I started a trend! *snicker*

Actually San, if you go back into my archives, you will see lots of photos of store windows -- well really only Bergdorfs as I have a love for their windows.

sometimes it is good to break the rules you set for yourself. it's always nice to see people who look so carefree and happy in what they are wearing. love the combination of the glasses, dress, tights and shoes. something about her is reminding me of katy perry. really lovely. xx

I always enjoy your photos and I love that you caught this moment, that I agree is intimate and food shots can be so cruel to the subject! Great photo, especially with the peek of violet in the background.

Aw, girl, did you have to burst my little bubble of imagination? ;-)
Anyway, I was just kidding. You told me before that you photograph store windows. And besides that, when davidikus can schedule pics of store windows for every second day, he has been there before me too. And additionally I've only started last week with this store window thing, so how could I start a trend?! ;-D
In any case everyone has a different city (New York, London, Leipzig), camera and perspective, this is going to be really interesting.
