New York: 58th Street and 5th Avenue
Inspiration: I had to go to the Apple Store during lunch, so I thought I would stop by Bergdorfs to see what those windows had in store for me. As usual, I am never disappointed by Bergdorf's window display. Alas, I had no camera but for the one on my i-phone. Some swear by their i-phone pics, but the background noise (in film, it would have been called "grain") usually irks me. I have to admit, however, that I rather like the effect of the noise in this series. Even so, I plan to return to Bergdorf's tomorrow or on Saturday with my "Big Momma" camera.
ahh my favourite genre of pictures!:) I just love your window display photography!! Anyway I did notice the "noise" as soon as I opened it but I didn't think it was made with an i-phone! like wow. The shoot is great. Can't wait to see your Momma camera results;)

What a wonderful shot, PD! I know what you mean about the noise/grain (I still think of it as grain, from shooting in film so long). I can't believe it's from your phone, because I know you would normally control the focus.. I think sometimes that inanimate objects, if they're 'ours' for long enough, take on our qualities. LIke cars. They kind of become our horse.
Oh to answer your question re: Ashish: I just got lucky. Just walked in, asked someone if that seat was free.. and made a great new stylist friend in the process!

Oh, I really like this picture and display. The way that you really can see the other building in the left, but is just showing a hint on the right due to the light.
the interesting couch position. Really cool.
Thanks for the grain/noise explanation. I've always wondered.
Today we've got sunshine. So I'll be out shooting too. We'll see what I get.
Have a wonderful Sunday.

PS. You can use software to remove the noise, cf Noiseware Community Edition.

The iphone camera is good, but I don't understand how you achieved this quality with it! Excellent colors and great photo.

Sara - you think that the quality is good? I think that it is quite poor, actually. The noise is horrible. But thanks for your comment!

Obviously there's no comparison to a dslr, but for an iphone, I definitely think this is good quality. If I were to enlarge photos from my iphone to this size, there would be a substantial amount of of noise and blur. I do love the Photoshop Mobile app on the iphone though!
