Fall Glamour

New York: Central Park

Inspiration:  I am Summer's biggest fan. Spring is a good "friend" because she precedes Summer. But let's face it . . . neither Spring nor Summer can compete with Fall's glamour. 

(I suppose Winter has her virtues too, but I've never figured them out).

Mellow Yellow

Inspiration: They say that blondes have more fun. In this case, that may very well be true.

Quintessential Central Park

New York: Central Park

Inspiration:  These horse-drawn carriages are a part of the quintessential Central Park experience.  I feel badly for the horses, though. Living in this city is hectic enough for humans. I cannot imagine how stressed horses must feel.

Pumpkin Season

New York: Union Square Market

Inspiration: It's back. So soon. Way too soon. Pumpkin season.  Which means Halloween is near. Which also means Thanksgiving is coming. Then Christmas. Then New Years . . . Oh My God. Where's the time going?

Jaunty Girl

New York: Central Park

Inspiration: Loved her colors, confidence and jaunty hat and fur stole. She almost had me believing for a moment that I was in Paris, not Central Park.

Portrait of a Street Magician

New York: Washington Square Park

Inspiration: He looked like a 19th century magician, top hat, vest and all. His pierced ears brought me back to the 21st.

Shades of Blue . . . and Pink

New York: Union Square

Inspiration: I am no Sartorialist. The pictures that I post on this blog are more about color than fashion/style (which is not to say that she doesn't look great). That is why I like this picture.  Even when I took it, I did not realize how many shades of blue were captured in this photo.

Standing Out in A Crowd

Inspiration: I have never colored my hair (believe it or not) and if I did, I would not likely stray far away from my natural dark brown color. But I have to admit that her hair color was a like a ray of sunshine in an otherwise overcast gray day.

A Man of Color

New York: Central Park

Inspiration: Today, we were graced with another glorious day in the city. After a late lunch with friends at Sarabeth's, I walked across the street into Central Park, determined to do something with the incredible light. Eventually, I ran into this fine gentleman and his menagerie. And we did a photo shoot! If you are wondering whether there was a parade or an asylum nearby . . . the answer is no. This is his style. And as you might expect, he attracts quite a bit of attention. Everyone wants his photograph or to be photographed with him. Popular guy. This guy and his menagerie.

Woodland Fairy: "Gone Fishing"

New York: Central Park

Inspiration: Some of you know a little about the Woodland Fairy from The Photodiarist, but for those of you don't, she hangs out all summer long in Central Park. For spare change, she will blow fairy dust all over you. I posted her in black and white in The Photodiarist, but color probably does her justice. In any event, she's flown south for the winter . . .
