I am a diarist of ordinary moments that move me. I gravitate towards black and white photography but still celebrate color. I love the candid capture but respect the power of the choreographed moment. I study the rules of phos+graphis but am compelled periodically to ignore them.
Inspiration: As much as I love to travel, nothing beats the feeling of flying over New York and knowing that you are back home to one of the best cities on earth.
Inspiration: Sometimes you need a different perspective to truly appreciate the planet on which we live. For an even more dramatic point of view, check out The Photodiarist in Color.
Inspiration: Tulips are one of my favorite flowers (topped only by Peonies and orchids). I know that I should have rendered the photo in color (they are a pale yellow tinged with red) but black and white makes them so dramatic looking!
Inspiration: Remember when I said I was stuck on the bridge last week? Here another photo from that mini-photo shoot. On this side of the bridge lies Chinatown with a view of the Empire State building in the distance.
New York: Downtown Manhattan from the Manhattan Bridge
Inspiration: I was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic on the Manhattan bridge yesterday . . . so I pulled out my phone and snapped some pics so as not to go nuts while sitting there FOREVER.
Inspiration: I love Spring. It's like a getting a present . . . a box filled with things you haven't seen or tasted in months. New grass, new flowers, trees with new leaves, people filling the parks and the streets, new fashions in store windows . . . love it.
