Inspiration:  In addition to offering a supporting hand, the cutest thing about this guy is the way he's wearing her bag while she tries to balance herself on the board.

Playing with Heart

New York: Washington Square Park

Inspiration:  The whole time she played, her eyes were closed.  And the more she got into the music, her eyelids shut even tighter.  

The Tango Lesson

New York: Union Square

Inspiration: Not too many things in life are free, but these tango lessons were.  From 7:00 to 8:00 pm last Sunday in Union Square.  I plan to check this spot again this Sunday to see if I can snag a lesson -- provided I can force myself to put my camera down for a few minutes.

Hanging Out

Inspiration: Ran into this guy just hanging out on his head. For a while. Crossing his legs and then uncrossing them.  As always, a small crowd gathered to watch. Before you think that New Yorkers are really nuts, you should know that just as I walked away, he busted into a breakdance. But I'd already moved onto the next attraction at the square . . .

"Be Creative"

New York: 1st Avenue and 19th Street

Inspiration: Back from London! Had such a great time with my peeps. But now I am knee deep in a spot of creativity.  I am in the process (a rather arduous one at that) of completing a project for this leather-working class I enrolled in a month ago.  I am making a handbag of course!  I hope to finish it next week, so I will give you details soon. Will be back to taking and posting more photos tomorrow.

The Accordian Player

New York: Washington Square Park

Inspiration:  Union Square used to be no. 1 on my list for street photography, people watching and experiencing the diversity of the city. But Washington Square Park, now completely renovated, has replaced Union Square as my favorite hangout for all of the above as well as the perfect venue for listening to all kinds of live music from a capella bands to jazz bands to old guys singing oldies to budding artists practicing their instruments.

On another note . . . I am off to London today. Will be back by Thursday but I am probably not going to have time to post. To my fellow Americanos, have a wonderful 4th of July.  And to everyone else, happy weekend.
