Inspiration: In order to complete the homework assigned in my photography class, I had to take the portrait of one more person. You may recall that I decided to take two of people I know and three of people I did not know. She is one of the people that I know. Very well, actually. She's my BFF. We each slipped away from our respective offices during lunchtime yesterday and headed to Union Square, which was central to both of us. I thought I would snap about 5-10 photos. When I downloaded them last night, somehow, I snapped 50! She's such a great and patient model, though. And we were chatting the whole time that I was putzing around with the camera, so we didn't even notice how many photos and how much time had gone by.
It was drizzling slightly when we took these, so the light was diffused and muted - perfect for a portrait. Also, BFF wore a killer black Jil Sander coat (yes - in the middle of May, we are still wearing winter coats). I used a wide aperture for these photos, so you cannot see the details of its architectural design, but you can see deep contrast of her hair and skin against the blackness of the coat - perfect for black and white.
So, I love so many of the photos that I couldn't decide which to post. So, why decide?
Thanks my friend. You are quite simply the best!
Amazing images...chic and fabulous!

These contrasts are magnificent !
I love the ray of light in background on the first, I think that gives a graphic touch .
The last is simply sublime.
Elegant, urban, delicate and a great smile .
Really beautiful .

Her hair's colour is very suitable for such a lightness. The photos are so comfortable.
It would be great if someone can take a photo of me like this.
