New York: E. 10th and 2nd Avenue
Inspiration: I took this on Sunday, when I was working on my homework assignment - portrait shots of five different people. Her name is Kari, but I learned that later on. Her pixie cut caught my attention first. I am obsessed with the cut. Unfortunately, I have neither the face nor the guts to go that short. In any event, it suits her well. She was also incredibly lovely and allowed me to take a few shots of her (including a lens change). Here are a few of them. In the first and second shots, I used my 85mm 1.2 with a wide open aperture, hence the softness of the shots. This lens is perfect for portraiture. For the third, I used a 35mm lens, which allows for less compression of the background.
The following shot is a bit street-style, which is not really my style, but I loved her look as well, particularly the scarf and her striped skirt. I also liked that the horizontal lines of her skirt contrasted with the vertical lines in the background. That said, of the three photos, the first is my favorite and will be the one I use for my class. Thank you Kari!
P.S. I've also posted one photo of Kari in color.
She looks like such a sweet, innocent girl. I like all four including the coloured one. I like how the reds pop out of the picture in the coloured photos.
Of the three b&w photos my favorite is the second, because I can fully see her face. She has a beautifully shaped face with nice bone structure.

So, so great as always. I love your pics!!! I am flying tommorow to NYC to visit my daughter and I will look for a glimpse of you at your favorite spots! For me, you are the part of NYC. I know I will look at people differently because I know something about them. And that is because of your pics, something you gave it to me. Thank you.
