Inspiration: It has been alternately misty and rainy in New York all day. In fact, it's been gray and dreary all week. After several appointments in the Upper East Side today, I went into Central Park, despite the rain. I needed to spend some time outside despite the massive frizz action taking place on top of my head. As I walked down one of the paths heading toward Bethesda Terrace, I saw this coat propped against a tree. The coat appeared to have been carefully left behind, as if someone planned to collect it. Yet, I saw no one around. I don't really know why I photographed this, except for a certain sense of mystery the whole scene conveyed in that moment. And the numerous stories that came to mind as a result of one abandoned item of clothing. What happened to the owner? Why did he leave his coat? After all, today wasn't a day to go without one. How's the tennis ball involved?
Clearly, I watch way too many Law & Order reruns.
Murder She Wrote!!! I can just see her big eyes looking at that coat wandering....what happened.
I love this picture... it totaly invokes a sence of whatever story as to why it is there one can dream up!

Cristi: Exactly! That's why I like the photo, I think.
