Inspiration: These yellow leggings made me stop her for a photograph. Then, despite the bitter cold, Amy unveiled even more color under her coat. And shortly after that, she revealed that she is the creative force behind these incredible hats.
New York: Bleecker between Lafayette and Bowery Streets
Inspiration: I love how warm and stylish she looks when it's 20 degrees Fahrenheit outside and the rest of us are wrapped up and practically unrecognizable under heavy coats. For the black and white version, check out The Photodiarist.
Inspiration: At least a few times a week, I find myself in a cab on the FDR taking photographs of bridges. I took this one with my i-phone and applied a blue filter. I am no iphoneographer as I usually have some other camera with me, but I am becoming a convert.
Inspiration: New York winters may be bitter cold, but they aren't gloomy and gray. We get some of the crispest, bluest light during our winter afternoons. I overexposed when I shot this to emphasize the iciness of this past Sunday.
Inspiration: It was about 50 degrees Fahrenheit today. And still tons of snow on the ground. While tromping through what will surely be slush in a few days, I saw this coat. A coat with a flamenco dancer on the back. Wow. I would never own a coat like this because it is the furtherest thing from monochromatic (which how I like my coats). But I love that someone does.
