New York: Washington Square PArk
Inspiration: I post much less photos in color than in black and white. Apart from my obsession with black and white photography, I have high expectations of a color photograph. I love it when a scene fills the photograph with so much color that it almost pops off the screen! In this series, my expectations have been met. Indeed, I was lucky to have walked into Washington Square Park just in time to photograph an artist painting this woman's body in vibrant hues for a photo-shoot. While I love the portrait shots, the second to last and last photos stand out for me. Why? The nonchalance. The insouciance. The blase attitude. Second to last photo: "Yeah - I am semi-nude and being painted from head to toe in the middle of Manhattan, but honestly, I've gotta send a text right now. No problem. Keep painting. It's all good." Last photo: The look on the face of the woman on the far right as she puffs on her cigarette: "What's the fuss. That's not so hard." Priceless.

I don't think you can understand how much this made my night. This inspires me 100%. I completely love them. I am going to be photographing a model soon where we paint her face and I am so excited about it. I'm not sure I will use this much color, or so thin. But, it is so amazing nonetheless.

Louis: I hope that you post your photos! I cannot wait to see them. Glad to have made your night. Running into this scene this afternoon made my day!

wow these photos really do pop! i love the portraits and I'm amazed at how someone can be so comfortable in their own skin as to stand naked in front of so many people. I envy that girl!

I love the 1st and the 5th photo, especially the 5th. I love the position of her eyes in that one. The details in the 5th are great too. It must have been pretty warm that day, I'm so jealous, weather here is awful.

Great body painting! The pictures work of course better in colour. You can adjust the black and white 'translation' of the colours but it's never the same!
These pics are really good. Especially 1 & 3.

I love this series. And in this case I'm glad to see the colorshots. The B&W are nice but this calls for the vibrance of colors.
And this girl has got guts. Adorable. I definitely don't want to be in her place, yeah, you can call me coward on this.

Great pictures. Though the portraits are extremely striking I do especially love the 'texting one' because it adds such a surreal touch (his suit is also very interesting).
I noticed that you have started putting a copyright stamp on your pictures. Did you have bad experiences with people stealing your photos?

Still chuckling. You're musings on her inner thoughts are hilarious. Can't decide on a favourite....they're all really very cool.

Nadine - It seems as though she could be saying that, no?
Liya - Thanks. I prefer the color version by a long shot.
Sabine - thank you. As for the copyright, I didn't know how the heck to do it before. Then I figured it out. So far, I haven't run across anyone stealing my photos. In a way, I'd be complimented if someone thought that they were good enough to steal - I just realized that adding the copyright logo it was probably a smart thing to do. That said, if I think it will ruin the look of a photo entirely, I don't add it.

what a brave lady

Thanks for your answer. I've been wondering because I have been reading a lot about upset bloggers whose pictures were used without their knowledge or consent. (And your pictures are certainly worth 'stealing'!)
