Inspiration: Sunday was rainy and cold. That made it a great day for macro photography! I love dewy flower shots. This tulip was way more brilliant than this photograph suggests. When I snapped this, I deliberately underexposed it as much as I could before fading to black altogether. Then, in Lightroom, I played around to achieve this washed out look. More tulip photos to come . . .

Very nice - it's interesting you see you toned down the colouring. I think most people would typically do the reverse! Perhaps you take very saturated pictures already? (Beware that on some settings Nikons oversaturate all the reds, as I discovered when checking on my students' pictures).
