New York: From my kitchen window
Inspiration: I should be outside. I am going outside. It's just that I've been feeling under the weather for the past few days. A horrible chest cold and sore throat. I keep coughing and coughing and coughing. I have a speaking thing for work next week (I have to speak in front of 500 people including my boss!). So I cannot lose my voice! But the sun and warmth are beckoning. See the sun sparkling on those bricks? The dark shadows on the right are the frame of my window (in case you were wondering about technicalities like that).
P.S. To my Mum: I know I wished you Happy Mother's Day this morning and, for that matter, last Sunday (because I goofed the date! Well better early than never . . .). But here's another: HAPPY DAY TO YOU. You are da best.

In which lighting conditions did you take this photo? The brick detail comes out very nice.

uh oh, losing your voice days before you have a big public presentation is not good.
I tell you what you need, raw eggs mixed with fresh orange juice twice a day...it's disgusting but works like a charm.

Oh David. Something tells me that I'd rather be sick with a cold than sick to my stomach drinking raw eggs and acidic orange juice -- together no less. Eww. But thanks for the advice anyway! BTW, going to Paris in the fall for PFW. Hope to see you there.

What time of day was this taken? Beautiful contrast and composition.

Sandra: Around 2:00. Thank you.
Alice Olive: I have a wicked cough/cold! Still trying to fight it off. Thanks for asking!
Three Angles: Thanks for your comment.

Oh feel better, Photodiarist!
Gorgeous photo. Surreal: it almost feels like desert sand. With windows.
I completely forgot it was Mother's Day in the States, until my mom mentioned it. (It was March here). So I called her anyway: we're always chatting. Good luck with your talk. My remedy is eggless: 'tea' of sliced raw ginger in boiling water, lemon and honey.

Hey there,
I hope you feel better and that your speech went over well.
Interesting angle in your pic.
Greetings from sunny Leipzig,

The stunning aspect of this image is both the contrast of light and the textures.
I would be delighted if you would add your photography resource to Geotog.com Regards Tony at Geotog

Whenever I see a black-and-white picture of a building, I imagine it as a scene from a 50s crime or thriller film. But I was amazed with the shot from your kitchen window. It's like a vintage photograph taken by an expert. How's your throat and chest anyway? I hope you’ve recovered from your cough and cold.
