New York: West Side of Manhattan (first photo); East Side of Manhattan (second photo)
Inspiration: It's a bit odd that on an island as small as Manhattan, a number of Manhattanites pick a side and stick with it. While we may venture all over the city for various reasons, many of us identify with a side. Many of my friends have never lived on the East and are loathe to head East . . . always suggesting restaurants and activities on the West. Me -- I am an eastsider. For eleven years, I've lived, worked and stomped on the East Side. Quite frankly, I'm more likely to move to Brooklyn than the West Side . . . but from above, with my eyes squinted a bit, East and West are virtually indistinguishable.

And there isn't an inch to spare on either side...!

So true! I lived on the West side, and my activities kept mainly on the West side. But this also has to do with the subway map. Sometimes going East or West is not the easiest or the fastest.
