Inspiration: I wanted a little field trip yesterday so he and I went to Rhinebeck in the Hudson River Valley. On the way, we crossed a bridge or two . . . Since we live on an island and cross bridges all the time, we often take them for granted. We sometimes forget what magnificent feats of engineering bridges are . . . complex mechanical beasts of transportation indeed.

I'm always impressed with the engineering of bridges, and how architects can blend a sense of beauty in the structure, like the art deco lines of Golden Gate Bridge (not to mention its unique "International Orange" color!). In NYC, my favorite part of crossing bridges is espying the Manhattan skyline on the other side!

Nice shot! The bridges in NY are stunning, I was always in awe crossing them, even the time I walked through the Brooklyn Bridge despite my fear of heights that was a bit - hum, a lot - stressing but I will never forget it at least hahaha.
