I am a diarist of ordinary moments that move me. I gravitate towards black and white photography but still celebrate color. I love the candid capture but respect the power of the choreographed moment. I study the rules of phos+graphis but am compelled periodically to ignore them.
Inspiration: Kim from Eat Sleep Wear, is, without a doubt, a beautiful woman. But I have to draw your attention to her accessories -- from the way she accentuated her eyes with liquid liner and glasses (yes -- glasses can sometimes accentuate one's eyes) to the way she adorned her wrists, fingers and neck. For me, accessories are one of the keys to a signature look as they evidence our individuality in ways that sometimes clothes just cannot accomplish. For the color version, go to The Photodiarist in Color.
Inspiration: I took this last weekend (hard to believe the week flew by so quickly) while I was on my biannual NYFW photo patrol. Of course there are no "streets" as such in Lincoln Center, but street photography has gone way further than the streets these days! I would have titled the photo by her name but I am embarrassed to say . . . I don't know it. But I know she's a pretty well known model. Would someone tell me her name please? By the way, for a color photo of her, go right here.
Inspiration: NYFW is over! It went by so quickly this time around. In any event, I do have quite a few more photos to show you. And then next week, I head to Milan and then Paris . . . so get ready for more fashion photos. Meanwhile, I give you "The Vamp".
Inspiration: One trend in sunglasses I just love (and have been following with my own sunnies by the Row) is the round lens. By the way, the real story in this photo is not Hanneli's sunglasses, but her color combination, which you can check out right here.
