I am a diarist of ordinary moments that move me. I gravitate towards black and white photography but still celebrate color. I love the candid capture but respect the power of the choreographed moment. I study the rules of phos+graphis but am compelled periodically to ignore them.
Inspiration: At first glance, he kinda looks like a waiter right after work. But upon a closer review, there's so much more going on here. First, the shine of those pointy-toed shoes adds a glam factor to another otherwise basic look. And the black earring, bracelet, ring, and bowtie all tell us that this guy takes his accessories seriously. It pays to look twice!
Inspiration: Another photo from last September's archives. It's not that I am lazy about taking new pics . . . really. I take photos all of the time. I am just finding some pretty cool portrait photographs from my archives that I've never posted. And I cannot wait for fashion week in New York to get here already.
Inspiration: It's rather early to be gearing up for September's fashion weeks, but I cannot help myself. I just cannot wait! This is a photo from September 2010 New York Fashion Week. She's an Italian photographer/writer, but alas . . . I cannot remember her name now. Does anyone recognize her?
Inspiration: Going waaaay back into last year's fashion week archives to bring you this photo of Nadia Sarwar of FrouFrouu. She's stunning, no? I just love the photos I took of her last fall. I cannot wait for this September's fashion weeks. This time around, I will be in New York, Milan and Paris! Yay.
Inspiration: It's going to be a miserably hot week . . . 90s and 100s for days. The most enjoyable way to cool off during days like these is jumping into the fountain at Washington Square Park (or going to work where the powerful air-conditioning makes the place feels like the coldest day in January -- except that my workplace is nowhere near as enjoyable as hanging out in the park)!
