New York: E. Houston and Mulberry Streets
Inspiration: I am a bit delirious this morning. Why? For the past several months, I have been on the go, morning, noon and night. I shouldn't complain because practically everyone is tired and busy and stressed. But sometimes I just can't take it. Like this morning. Instead of facing two more projects that are being assigned to me today, I want to jump in a car or a plane or on a bike or even on a skateboard and vanish for several weeks. As far away as I can from my midtown office building and the panicky faces of my bosses and colleagues and oh-so serious projects that must be done now now now. This weekend, I head to Vegas. But it's for work! My bosses will be there too, so I will have no time to play. The best part is that I while I am on the plane, I will have no choice but to turn off my blackberry and phone and receive no e-mails or calls. And for five glorious hours, I might be able to get some sleep!

I am on the same page but 'delirious' is putting it mildly. Absolutely love your posts and photos - inspiring!

Hope you get your down time. Back in my corporate NYC days, my colleagues and I had an airplane rule -- that we wouldn't sit next to each other so we could chill before meetings at the other end! (Didn't quite work if the boss wanted to work with us on the plane.) Anyway, your skate boarder's got it right!

Ah, time to take a step back and tell everyone no. Take the break. It's high time for it.
Lovely picture.

It is sounds blasphemous for one to say they're going to Vegas for work and no play! I can only empathize with you my dear. I bet your bosses are going to sneak off to play and leave all the heavy lifting in your capable hands...

David -- Totally. I am sure I am going to catch at least one of them at the gambling tables while I am slogging away at work.

VEGAS BABY!! I haven't been there since I was a child: wasn't allowed on the floor to play the slot machines but my sister and I watched from a respectful distance and did some kind of good luck voodoo dance and to my mom's surprise, she got something like $5.00 in nickels. In those days it felt like a very big deal.
Wish I knew what you did for an actual job. My husband thinks you're actually a famous photographer and you're doing all this for a lark. Love this shot: love the shape of the guy, he's like top heavy. Safe trip. Hope you have fun and they let you play, just once.
