New York: Union Square
Inspiration: New York City was doused with snow last night -- somewhere between 12 and 19 inches depending on the location. There were places in Union Square where the snow came up close to my knees. That said, nothing stops intrepid New Yorkers from enjoying some air and a newspaper in the park.

Those old-style middle aged Italian guys HAVE to have their walk-in-the-park-sit-on-the-bench-with-newspaper-&-look-around every morning or they die! Nothing can stop them, even 3 meters of snow!
Believe me, my grandfather and his friends are the proof!!

Oddly enough, there seems to be someone else sitting further down the benches... Is this a typical NYC habit. How cold is it? I am meant to visit NYC in two weeks' time & those pictures make me feel like canceling! (I mean the weather depicted on the pics, not the pics themselves)

OMG! Look at his face! Looks as if he's going to freeze at any moment! And there seems to be someone else further down!
Nothing like a bit of fresh air, really, really fresh....or maybe he's just showing-off, something like - yeah! No snow storm can prevent me from reading the newspaper at my usual spot!
