Inspiration: The look of "waiting" is a rather poignant one. Expectancy and impatience mixed with a little anxiety. People who are waiting for something or someone rarely look at ease unless they are doing something while waiting - such as reading.
By the way, it rained like crazy yesterday - intermittent heavy downpours. In fact, a few hours after I took this shot, he and I went to Lucien in the Lower East Side for dinner. On our way back, the sky opened up and all hell broke loose. The streets were practically flooded. Even with umbrellas, we were totally soaked when we finally found a cab. I have to admit that running through the rain with him from shelter to shelter to cab was quite fun and funny. I almost lost my flip-flops in a giant puddle in the middle of the street.

The background is so beautiful...

You are right about the waiting.
At first I had the impression that she has an artificial arm, because of how the bag straps cross the arm. I really like how you composed this pic. I probably would've put her in the center.
Though I'm late: Happy One Year Anniversary!! I was surprised that your blog is just one year old, it feels to me as if it has been around forever. Love it, it's always full of inspiration.
And on the rainy Sunday: How you described it, it sounds like a scene out of a romantic movie. Glad you enjoyed yourself nonetheless.
Have a great new week. (Yes, pulling the plugs is fantastic!)

Really beautiful shot. I rarely see Union Square this empty - looks calm and even a bit haunting.

The composition is excellent. And her expression tells so much. Can weave like a thousand stories as to what she is waiting for.

What a lovely shot! I really like how the background becomes a painterly blur. Love the laces on her boots, too!

This is really beautiful - the mood, the look on her face and the entire focus on her speaks volumes.
