You should go to Paris... They are everywhere ;-)

Beautiful picture

The accordian is great. Seeing this picture he was playing a sad tune? He looks very intense and serious.. The accordian looks really great, the details are very sharp.

It's True!

The accordian is great sound.
I love this sound.
What is he looking at?...

Is NYC an accordion city? It's very interesting you chose a soft focus on his face.

@davidikus: Because I wanted a sharp focus on the accordian.

@Lady M: I think he was just looking into space . . . trying not to look at the camera, I think.

@Sara: It is, right?

@Biana: I don't recall the tune being sad at all.

@Valentine: I hope to go to Paris soon!

The Santa Claus of musical instruments-nice one.
Obstructed...his facial expression.

OOh, not sad huh.. maybe he was thinking about something. hmm, his look is interesting..

I heart the accordian...this is really wonderful.

Your NYC portraits are like no other! I love all these!

This is another reason why I adore living in Paris, France, the streets are lined with accordion player. His look is very penetrating!

@Englishvers: I think our streets are lined with way more saxaphone players . . .

This brings me back! I used to play accordion when I was a kid. I made a lot of noise!

oh dear, i'm not a newyorker anumore. it's hard to let this go. my apartment view is: ... ta dah, palm trees!!! i'm not finished unpacking and miss ny so much when i see your photos... but here in santa monica it's cool and beautiful. and the beach is only 11 blocks away.

although it's a jovial instrument, the accordion player is certainly not jovial.

You should look up the main squeeze orchestra (http://www.mainsqueezeorchestra.com/), they're on hiatus for the rest of the summer but they will return in Sept, they're a NY based, roughly 15 piece, all female, accordian orchestra, I attended one of their shows last week, they are a trip, so fun to watch, don't take themselves to seriously, just a good time, and if you love accordians you'll like it even more.
