Inspiration: Sometimes I feel a little bit guilty about catching publicly private moments like these. At the same time, but for the photograph, this specific moment might be lost permanently except, possibly, to the person or persons actually living it. The power of a camera to give everlasting life to otherwise ephemeral and fleeting seconds of time is truly addictive.

In a few words you said everything about photography.

You're completely right about the adiction part of photography.
Love this photo.

Yes - it is truly addictive. When I am not taking photos, I am dreaming of the ones I want to take . . .

I love this photos - but, I have to say, I would be a little creeped out if I was surfing and saw a photo of me like this.

Mina: Thanks for the compliment but I must ask: Why on earth would it creep you out? It's just a picture of people in love.

i dont think its necessarily creepy, i think it's really pretty to capture something like this... its like natural beauty and love at its finest =]

Incredible picture!! I check your blog daily and love it, but i wonder.. do you let a couple like that know that you've taken a picture of them? Cause if it were me in the picture I would like to have a copy of it, it's truly beautiful.. Anyway, congrats! Great eye for simple, yet amazing moments to capture!

Mary: I try to let them know. Often, I will show people the photo and email it to them if they want it.
Fred: thank you.

Beautiful, intimate picture! You would never ever be able to capture the same emotion and sentiment if you posed this! Well done. Just out of interest (and if you dont mind me asking) what is your day job? Because for an amateur photographer you have an amazing eye! You must be in the creative industry..

You should not feel guilty! It's a great picture & I am sure the people on the picture would actually be quite happy to see it (although they must have lived the moment very differently).

I am far too shy (and not interested enough in social situations) to take this kind of picture, so I can only admire you for having the guts to do it. Are you using a long focal? I am always amazed to think Cartier-Bresson et al. snapped moments with a 50mm when most reportage is done with at least twice that focal length (and the crop factor!) nowadays.

That's what I love about photography. This picture is amazing and I agree with davidikus, you should not be ashamed, and I would like to let go my shyness to take this kind of photographs...
Please continue.
