Inspiration: All that glitters is not gold. But then again, sometimes glitter is enough.
P.S. I took this with my i-phone. Since I usually (but not on Saturday morning) have a camera with me, I never use the one on my i-phone. I must say, the quality is not too bad.
New York: Union Square
Inspiration: One of life's teeny tiny pleasures is the anticipation of that first sip of hot coffee or tea on a cold day.
New York: Central Park
Inspiration: I think that I may have mentioned before that books were my first love. Photography became important much later. So, it's nice to be able to marry my two loves in theme of these last three photos. I've posted these "Reader" shots together because I took them within minutes of each other. As such, it wouldn't be right to separate them.
P.S. I will be away on vacation for a week starting tomorrow. I am bringing my laptop, though. So, provided that internet access is available, I will continue to post (and comment on all of my "go-to" blogs), but probably not on a daily basis. Have a great weekend, and for those of you in the U.S., a Happy Thanksgiving next Thursday.

New York: Central Park
Inspiration: This is one of my favorite things to do. Read on the grass when it's cool outside, even a bit chilly, but not cold.
New York: 5th Avenue along Central Park
Inspiration: I've been in love with the written word for as long as I can remember. Since childhood, I've carried at least one book with me at all times (another reason why I am still a fan of the massive shoulder bag - all the more space to carry books, a pair of flats and my camera).
New York: Union Square
Inspiration: New York is a veritable beehive of all types of artists. One of the wonderful things about the city is that many of these artists "practice" their art in the parks. As you can probably tell from previous posts, Union Square is literally an outdoor stage (see the "Why Guy"). So, I was thrilled when I entered the square just in time to enjoy this Japanese fan dance. Even though I tried to exercise some restraint here, this series is a bit long. I didn't think that only one, two or even three photos would give you a real sense of his moves. And I still have more!
New York: South Street Seaport
Inspiration: New Yorkers have a reputation for being aggressive, stressed out and hurried, among other things good, bad and ugly. But we know how to relax too.
By the way, South Street Seaport is my new favorite area. Especially at sunset. Sometimes I forget that I live on an island and that water is not too far away.
New York: Washington Square Park
Inspiration: Even more than I am, he is a regular at Washington Square Park. In old school terms, he's a real "cool cat" and I love photographing him. Can you dig it?
